Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 May 2026
At APE Audio Software, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when you visit our website or use APE Pro software.
1. Data We Collect
We only collect the minimum amount of data necessary to provide our services:
- Order Information: When you purchase a licence, we collect your name and email address to deliver your software and provide support. Payment processing is handled securely by Stripe; we do not store your credit card details.
- Waitlist Data: If you join our Mac version waitlist, we store your name and email address to notify you of the release.
- Website Analytics: We use a private, self-hosted analytics system to monitor site traffic. This records IP addresses and device types (e.g. Windows or Mac) to help us improve the website.
- Advertising: We use the Meta Pixel to understand how visitors interact with our ads. This helps us show APE Pro to the right people (e.g. DJs and music collectors).
2. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely for the following purposes:
- To process your orders and deliver your download links.
- To provide technical support and answer your enquiries.
- To notify you about important software updates or Mac release news.
- To improve our website and marketing performance.
3. Software Privacy (The App)
Crucially, APE Pro is a local-first application. All audio processing, normalisation, and metadata editing happen entirely on your own computer. Your music files never leave your machine, and we do not have access to your personal music library.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We only share data with trusted service providers necessary to run our business (e.g. Stripe for payments and our secure email provider).
5. Your Rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to access, correct, or request the deletion of your personal data. If you would like to exercise these rights, please contact us at support@zapink.co.uk.
6. Cookies
We use small text files known as cookies to help our website function correctly and to understand how it is being used. You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings at any time.
